My practice is rooted in the figurative, both portraiture and still life.

Brittany Jones (b.1984, Florida, USA) graduated from Florida State University in 2005 after studying Studio Art, and first moved to Naarm / Melbourne in 2007. Her photo realistic oil paintings focus on the figurative. She has been short-listed in numerous prizes including The Archibald Prize (2025), The Portia Geach Memorial Award (2025), and STILL: National Still Life Award (2025) where she recieved a judges’ commendation.

Other short-listed prizes include Fleurieu Biennale Art Prize (2026), The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize (2022 & 2021), ACB Selects (as part of The National Emerging Art Prize) (2021), The Doug Moran National Portrait Prize (Semi-finalist 2021), The Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award (2021), The Small Works Art Prize (2020), and The Kilgour Art Prize (2020).

Her debut solo exhibition for painting will be at Michael Reid Southern Highland July 9 – Aug 9 2026, having previously shown her pyrography works with Northern Centre for Contemporary Art in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Her paintings are held in private collections around Australia.
